La Tour Apollinaire is delighted to be associated with the Catalan Dragons, the iconic rugby league club and a true source of pride for Perpignan and the whole of Catalonia.
Since joining the Betfred Super League in 2005, the Catalan Dragons have written a major chapter in the history of rugby league. Attracting top French and international players, the club regularly brings the Gilbert Brutus Stadium to life, driven by a passionate community of supporters both in France and the United Kingdom.

A story that started here
Our story with the Catalan Dragons dates back to the club’s early days in Super League.
In 2005, when the Catalan Dragons were selected to join the British championship, New Zealand legend Stacey Jones, nicknamed the “Little General”, moved to Perpignan to become the team’s first captain.
It was at Château La Tour Apollinaire that he held his first press conference in France.
A few months later, in February 2006, under his leadership, the Catalan Dragons won their very first Super League match against the Wigan Warriors. It marked the beginning of an exceptional journey and one of the greatest success stories in the modern history of rugby league.

A collaboration that continues
In June 2026, we had the honor of taking part in the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Catalan Dragons, during an exceptional two-day event in Paris, and attending a historic match against the Wigan Warriors.
This celebration also marked the 30th anniversary of the Super League.
In August 2026, La Tour Apollinaire was also delighted to sponsor a match at Gilbert Brutus Stadium against Wakefield Trinity, further strengthening the ties that unite our Château with the Catalan club.
